my name is camille. here's my cosplay dump. i've been cosplaying since 2005 and somehow have just continued to get more and more into it. and somehow, for all the friends I meet a long the way, and all the fun that has been had, it is definitely worth all the time. enjoy~ !
shiftingeyeswithvacancy Hai Hai!! Do you have any tips about cosplaying?? Im new to it and really would love mine to come out like yours!!
Firstly, I am an advocate for cosplaying anything and anyone you want. No matter what size, shape, or colour. :)
But, there are a lot of ways to interpret a character! Like for instance, there’s using white fabric to create ruffles on a skirt versus using lace trim. I think its fun to do either! I also like the idea of embellishing on a character. Adding on pieces or sewing panels that aren’t drawn in. I haven’t really done that on many of my cosplay’s but I think it’s a great idea!
I also think little things like the quality of your wig and wearing eyelashes and make up really adds to how it comes out visually. :)
As for props, I really like to make my props as ghetto-ly as possible. As nice as it would be to have a sword welded from a volcano… Its just not possible. So almost all my weapons and accessories are made from craft foam and foam core. :)
Also, in terms of tips for mimicking anime proportions, I have a few that I generally use. One of the more obvious ones is that I love to wear heels with what ever cosplay I do. XD Besides the fact that I love wearing heels, I think it helps lengthen your legs.
All in all, cosplay is all in good fun. :) Have fun, feel good about what you’re wearing, and who cares what people say. And you’re so cute! I remember you and your friends at PMX. :3 Hope I get to see you all at another one! :)
Very first convention was AX 2003. My grandmother made me Kagura from Fruits Basket. I was ghetto.
The first costume I made from scratch— and actually sewed was I-no from Guilty Gear. Some girl told me I couldn’t sew. So I proved her wrong.
